I hear about Mississippi River three years ago, on the lessons of geography at school and always wanted to learn more about it. Mississipi is the largest river of North America, draining with its major tributaries an area of approximately 1.2 million sq mi (3.1 million sq km), or about one-eighth of the entire continent. The Mississippi River lies entirely in the United States. Rising in Lake Itasca in Minnesota, it flows almost due south across the continental interior, collecting the waters of its major tributaries, the Missouri River (to the west) and the Ohio River (to the east).
Louisiana also has a rich, colorful historical background. Like during learning other states, it was also intresting to learn history of Louisiana. You can find this information on this sites:

Louisiane
I decided to write about Lousiana, one of the states of the United States, because of its intresting position: it is situated in the Mississippi River Delta. Among this, Louisiana has very beautiful nature, nice people and a lot of places of interest. One of the most interesting things that I discovered about louisiana is that among the states, Louisiana has a unique culture, owing to its French colonial heritage. While the state has no declared "official language," its law recognizes both English and French. Today, English is by far the main language of everyday life, but French is spoken by nearly 5% of the population and its influence can be seen in local dialects and in many place names.
What about geographical position?
Louisiana is a Southern state of the United States of America. Louisiana is bordered to the west by the state of Texas, to the north by Arkansas, to the east by the state of Mississippi, and to the south by the Gulf of Mexico. As it situated near the Delta of Mississippi River, the rainy coast country contains marshes and fertile delta lands; inland are rolling pine hills and prairies. Of course, the Mississippi dominates the many waterways, but there are other rivers (e.g., the Red River, the Ouachita, the Atchafalaya, and the Calcasieu) and the coast is threaded by many slow-moving bayous (e.g., the Teche, the Macon, and the Lafourche). The capital of louisiana is Baton Rouge.Louisiana also has a rich, colorful historical background. Like during learning other states, it was also intresting to learn history of Louisiana. Nature, nature, nature...
The diverse landscapes and ecosystems to be found across Louisiana make it a wonderland for nature lovers. For those who enjoy bird-watching, an extensive network of birding trails provides opportunities to view wide-ranging species in unique and exotic habitats. To my mind the most beautiful in Louisiana are lagoons such as Lake Ponchartrain, oxbow lakes made by Mississippi River cutoffs, and other lakes where the slow streams are clogged, that impressed me very much. when I saw how beutiful is there, I immidiatly decided to visit Louisiana in near future.I want you also look and read what beautiful nature is there clicking this links:

Something more?
- You know, I was really surprised when I learnt that Louis Armstrong, famous jazz singer was born inthis state.
- Because of its many bays and sounds, Louisiana has the longest coastline (15,000 miles) of any state and 41 percent of the nation's wetlands.
- Louisiana has the tallest state capitol building in the United States; the building is 450 feet tall with 34 floors.
This state is really very intrestig not only for learning, but for living there too. I loved this state, and I hope when you were reading this post, you loved it too!
